the great PARTY DIY CHALLENGE by bliss! and Urban Scarlet

Hi everyone! For the next two weeks, Justine from Urban Scarlet and I are hosting a great DIY party challenge! We are so thrilled to collaborate together on this wonderful project and hope you are as excited as we are! Here's the deal:

To enter the challenge you can create any party/event related diy project. Could be centerpieces or other decor for an elegant wedding, favors for a bachelorette bash, a photobooth backdrop for a birthday party or crafty invitations/stationery for a dinner party with friends - anything you want. Just keep in mind that it should fit into a small budget.

We will select 6 finalists together with our wonderful guest judges Ashley from HiFi Weddings and Melanie from You are my Fave, and post them on bliss! and Urban Scarlet for a public voting. The grand winner will be chosen by the jury taking into account the votes of the readers.

Excited yet? Something's missing, right? Yes, the prizes! And have we got a great package of lovely, crafty goodies for you:

The Finnish store and online shop Bake & Party is giving away a surprise package of party and baking goods, including fabric bunting, cupcake supplies and other lovely things. The exact contents of the package will be chosen taking into account the location of the winner (there's some limitations regarding the shipping of edible baking supplies, such as sprinkles etc.). Finnish readers, if you haven't checked out this shop yet, do it now - the rest of you may need the help of Google translator.

The lovely German shop Casa di Falcone is throwing in a 25€ voucher for their shop. The winner of this competition has free choice of tons of customized stamps, stickers, pretty package materials and more. How great is this!

Justine has put together a big, fat package of goodies from her own shop Urban Scarlet! It includes lots of packing supplies, stickers, a mini cupcake stand, masking tapes, gift tags and clothes pins.

We're topping off this grand pack of prizes with a package of paper straws from Urban Scarlet, two sets of metallic candy cups (so great for crafting) and 100 mini doilies in blue, white, orange and pink.

Of course all shipping is included in the prizes.

And if this wasn't enough, Justine and I are also offering the winner 6 months of free side bar advertising on our blogs.

In total, apart from the advertising, that's about 150€ or 200USD worth of goodies for one lucky winner!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To win this great great package of goodness, just follow these rules:

Create a party themed diy project on a budget, take pictures of it and send them sized to 670px wide to urbanbliss.diy@gmail.com. Along with the images, send in a name and step-by-step description of the project and all the materials needed for it. Be sure to include your name and the website/blog you want us to link your project to in case you are chosen as a finalist.

If you want to share your project on your own blog or website, please include a link to this challenge post.

You may submit at most 2 projects. The challenge is open internationally.

UPDATE: The challenge closes on Monday, 25. April 2011, at 11.30pm Pacific Time.

Also note that the finalists will not be notified by email, so come and check back regularly after the challenge closes. 3 finalist projects will be posted here and another 3 on Justine's blog.

Happy crafting!
